'Sexy', 'Beautiful' - Celtic fans react to club announcement

By Russell Edge

Celtic fans have taken to social media to sing the praises of the club’s new home kit for the 2017/18 season.

The new kit was revealed via a live stream on the club’s official Twitter page on Thursday.

It saw current players from both the men’s and lady’s teams model the kit, which features the club’s traditional green and white hoops, while the detailing is gold.

The shirts hark back to the kit worn by the ‘Lisbon Lions’, the Celtic side which won the European cup 50 years ago in Lisbon.

To commemorate the anniversary, the new kit features a specially designed club crest, which pays tribute to the team which defeated Italian giants Inter Milan back on the 25th of May, 1967.

Celtic are hoping to finish this season with a domestic treble, making it to the Scottish Cup final having already secured the Scottish League Cup and the Scottish Premiership titles.

Brendan Rodgers’ side are also aiming to finish their league season unbeaten, with their last defeat coming at the end of last season with a 2-1 defeat away to St Johnstone.
