Celtic fans on Twitter have raved about James Forrest for his performance in the 2-1 defeat to Bayern Munich at Parkhead on Tuesday night.

Forrest, 26, started on the right wing in Brendan Rodgers’ formation and was a constant thorn in the side of the German defence with his direct style of play and his wicked crosses.

Celtic were unlucky not to have scored from a number of Forrest’s deliveries into the area before the break, which saw Stuart Armstrong and Moussa Dembele both come close to scoring at points in the first-half.

Forrest eventually got a deserved assist in the second period, when his beautifully weighted through-ball gifted Callum McGregor the chance to equalise before Javi Martinez’s winner.

The 20-times Scotland international has made 22 appearances across all competitions this season, however only 14 of them have been starts.
