Celtic fans react to Kristoffer Ajer display against Rosenborg
By Harry Sykes
Kristoffer Ajer was handed his first start for Celtic in their goalless Champions League qualifier clash against Rosenborg – and fans on Twitter delivered mixed verdicts on his display.
Brendan Rodgers’ Hoops drew 0-0 at home on Wednesday night in the first-leg tie to leave their group stage bid in the balance.
On a frustrating night for Celtic in Glasgow, they dominated possession but were unable to offer any cutting edge in the absence of unavailable strikers Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths.
Rodgers mostly stuck with the mainstay of the team’s treble-winning 2016-17 campaign, although one notable inclusion in the starting XI was teenage Norwegian Ajer.
The 19-year-old was given the nod after Erik Sviatchenko was ruled out through injury.
Celtic fans took to social media to run the rule over the youngster, with most being impressed by what they saw.

Ajer joined Celtic from Norwegian club Start last summer as a holding midfielder but has been transformed into a centre-back by Rodgers.
He spent the second half of last season on loan at Kilmarnock and is now vying for a more regular role in the Hoops team.
In other Celtic news, clubs have reportedly registered an interest in signing this Hoops first-team player.
