Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to slam captain Scott Brown for his performance in the heavy 7-1 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night.

Brown, 32, was largely at fault for seeing the Bhoys lose their early lead that was gained through Moussa Dembele’s deflected strike.

The Hoops captain lost the ball in midfield and failed to track back in time before Neymar equalised for the Parisiens and set the precedent for the rest of the game for Brendan Rodgers’ men.

Scotland international Brown has been a real mainstay of the Celtic first-team for years and has been consistently one of their best performers, especially in the early months of this season.

However that wasn’t the case on Wednesday night at the Parc des Princes as the Parkhead faithful took to Twitter to tear into him for his performance.

One angry supporter even claimed that the usually-solid midfielder was “useless” against the French side.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Brown has made 23 appearances across all competitions this season, starting in all but four matches in domestic and European football, and even on the occasions he was left out it was due to injury or for a rest.

In other Celtic news, Alan Brazil has taken a swipe at Rangers as he shows his support for the green and white hoops.
