Celtic fans react on Twitter as senior pair pick up awards

By Matt Farr

Celtic senior duo Brendan Rodgers and Stuart Armstrong have landed awards for their efforts in December – and fans on Twitter are delighted.

Rodgers was named Scottish Premiership Manager of the Month, his third award of the season, while midfielder Stuart Armstrong was named Player of the Month.

The former Liverpool boss boasted a one-hundred per cent record in December, leading the club to eight successive league wins, despite a testing fixture list.

The run included a 2-1 victory over rivals Rangers in the Old Firm derby on New Year’s Eve, and puts Celtic 19 points clear at the top of the league, with a game in hand.

Armstrong, meanwhile, netted an incredible five goals in December, playing a part in all eight of Celtic’s fixtures.

Here are some of their messages on Twitter:

With the club firmly in control of their end-of-season fate, the Hoops are currently at a mid-season training camp in Dubai.

They are back in action in the Scottish League Cup fourth round against Albion on January 22, before they face St. Johnstone in the league just three days later.
