'What a signing' – Celtic fans react on Twitter to Sinclair display v Hearts

By Matt Farr

Scott Sinclair put in a performance of the highest order in Celtic’s emphatic win over Hearts on Sunday – and fans on Twitter were thrilled.

The 28-year-old winger scored a superb hat-trick as Celtic cruised to a 5-0 victory, as well as their sixth consecutive Scottish Premiership title with victory at Tynecastle.

It was fitting that the former Manchester City outcast played a starring role in the victory that clinched Celtic’s title triumph, having been such an important figure for the club under Brendan Rodgers this season.

He has scored 21 goals and contributed 10 assists from 40 appearances in all competitions this term.

Celtic fans were delighted with his latest display, and took to Twitter to deliver their verdicts.

Here is a selection of their messages:

Sinclair had put Celtic two goals to the good with a quickfire brace within the first half-an-hour, combing well with Patrick Roberts on both occasions.

Midfield maestro Stuart Armstrong added to Celtic’s lead shortly after the break with a thunderous strike from 20 yards, before Roberts got in on the act with a solo effort.

A late penalty allowed Sinclair to complete his hat-trick, confirming Celtic’s Scottish Premiership title triumph with four league games to go.

The victory also sees Rodgers’ side remain unbeaten across all three domestic competitions this season, and just one title away from a domestic treble.
