Erik Sviatchenko has revealed that he missed Celtic’s trip to Tynecastle to face Hearts as he is suffering from illness that has lingered since Friday.
Celtic were confirmed as Scottish Premiership champions after smashing the Jam Tarts 5-0, which included a hat-trick from makeshift striker Scott Sinclair on Sunday.
Denmark international Sviatchenko revealed on his personal Twitter account that he was “watching from his sofa” instead of playing because of the illness.

Sinclair bagged Celtic’s first after a neat one-two with on-loan winger Patrick Roberts, before unleashing a vicious shot that flew into the roof of the net past goalkeeper Jack Hamilton.
The former Manchester City ace then scored his 20th goal of the season, with Roberts turning provider once again. His through ball was duly latched on to by Sinclair, who finished neatly.

Stuart Armstrong and Roberts himself then got themselves on the scoresheet, both placing the ball out of the reach of goalkeeper Hamilton, before Sinclair completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot.
Jozo Simunovic and Dedryck Boyata teamed up at the heart of defence in the absence of Sviatchenko, who has made a huge 37 appearances in all competitions this season.
Helping the Hoops win 27 of those, the Bhoys’ number 28 has also played a crucial part in keeping a huge 18 clean sheets this season.
The ex-FC Midtjylland star could return in time for Wednesday’s clash against Partick at Celtic Park, as the Hoops look to remain unbeaten and smash their 2001-02 record of 103 points.
