'Titanic would turn quicker' - Celtic fans slam 24-year-old after win v Anderlecht

By Danny Wright

Celtic fans were left unimpressed with the display of Tom Rogic on Wednesday as his side beat Anderlecht 3-0 in Belgium to give them a massive three points in their Champions League group.

Rogic, 24, started the game ahead of the likes of Stuart Armstrong and Callum McGregor but did little to show Brendan Rodgers that he is worthy of keeping his spot in the starting line-up ahead of Saturday’s clash with Hibernian after a lacklustre display.

Although the Australia international scored in the Old Firm win against Rangers on Saturday, he couldn’t replicate those heroics in Brussels as he went missing for large parts of the game and failed to provide the crucial link between attack and midfield.

Eventually, Rodgers took the decision to take him off in the 65th minute for McGregor, who is now surely in strong contention to start against Hibs at the weekend.

Fans were left dismayed about Rogic’s poor form on Wednesday, but didn’t hold back on Twitter as they slammed him for not getting enough foot hold in the game.

Rogic was in great form for Celtic last season but has perhaps not quite hit the heights of that this term.

Despite that he has still been able to score four goals and supply five assists in his 15 appearances across all competitions.

In other Celtic news, Rodgers has delivered an injury update on Scott Brown after he limped out of the win in Belgium.
