Liverpool have handed Celtic a catastrophic transfer blow by refusing to loan them Harry Wilson, according to a report.
The Echo claim the Hoops have been “desperate” to take the forward, 21, next season as they look to strengthen their attack following the exits of Patrick Roberts and Stuart Armstrong.
It is said that Celtic’s loan offer has been rejected by Liverpool and there is no chance he will move to Scotland in the forthcoming campaign.
The Echo report Liverpool are concerned about the Scottish champions’ use of loan signings from Premier League clubs last season, highlighting Brendan Rodgers’ limited use of Patrick Roberts and Charly Musonda.
Roberts barely played following his return from injury at the end of 2017-18 while Musonda was recalled 12 months early by parent club Chelsea furious at his lack of game.
