Celtic must seal summer swoop for 6ft 2 defender who has is barely playing at PL giants

COMMENT

Celtic have had some issues to deal with at centre-back this season as they have been unable to find a partnership that works for most of the season.

They seem to have found one player for the position for the enforceable future in 19-year-old Kristoffer Ajer, and a player they must consider making a move to sign to be his partner is Arsenal’s Rob Holding.

The 22-year-old has fallen down the pecking order this season with the Gunners, making only nine Premier League appearances this season.

The Englishman, who stands at a huge 6ft 2, made his name for the Premier League giants last season, when he was part of the side which defeated Chelsea 2-1 in the FA Cup Final.

But this season, despite all of their problems, Arsene Wenger has been reluctant to use him for most of the season, especially in the league.

If he wants to kick-start his career, a move to the Hoops, even initially on loan, would seem like a good idea. He would get regular game time, and if he plays well he could either earn a move to the Hoops on a permanent basis or win a second chance with Arsenal.

At only 22-years-old, Holding still has many years of his career ahead of him, and he is a player that Brendan Rodgers should have high on his list of signings in the summer.
