Celtic or Rangers tipped to complete ‘fabulous’ Fuchs deal after source’s update – McLeish
Alex McLeish has suggested Celtic or Rangers may tempt Dundee United into selling midfielder Jeando Fuchs in January.
The former Gers manager, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested either Glasgow giant could “open the chequebook” to seal a deal for the 24-year-old.
A recruitment source told Football Insider on Sunday (26 December) Dundee United are ready to reject all offers for Fuchs next month despite his contract expiring at the end of the season.

Both Celtic and Rangers have been credited with an interest in the midfielder ahead of the January window.
McLeish suggested the financial might of the Glasgow giants could see United offered a fee they cannot refuse next month.
“It is much more competitive for them, money-wise,” McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.
“I know Rangers and Celtic have done some big deals but it’s much more competitive for them to see an emerging player in the Scottish Premier League.
“They know that they can open the chequebook and that’s a target that they could achieve and sign in January.
“It is great for the Scottish game they keep transfers within our divisions and in the country. Fabulous.
“I go back to my days at Rangers with Kris Boyd and Stevie Thomson from Dundee United. These two guys were brilliant.
“It’s fantastic if Fuchs can be a player who they keep within the Scottish system.”

Fuchs has played 46 times for Dundee United since joining from Alaves in October 2020.
The two-cap Cameroon international has 36 Premiership appearances under his belt.
