Celtic player ratings v Kilmarnock: Attacker is 4/10
COMMENT By Harvey Byrne
Football Insider rates the Celtic players in the 3-1 win against Kilmarnock in the Premiership on Saturday afternoon.
Craig Gordon 6 – Caught out by a deflection on the goal conceded. Couldn’t do anything to keep the ball out of the net after it was hit.
Mikael Lustig 7 – Made some good forward uns which ended in threatening crosses while doing his job at the back well. A complete performance from the full-back and was unfortunate to finish without an assist.
Dedryck Boyata 6 – A quiet afternoon for the defender, but he did his job when necessary to ensure his side a clean sheet.
Jozo Simunovic 6 – Much like Boyata he had a quiet game against Kilmarnock. Showed his aerial prowess at times when coming up against Conor Sammon.
Kieran Tierney 7 – Played in some good balls and was confident going forward across the 90 minutes. Caused numerous problems to the Kilmarnock defence. Was unlucky not to score with a stunning volley in the first half.
Scott Brown 6 – Battled well in midfield and helped his side move up the pitch. A proper captains performance once more from Brown.
Callum McGregor 7 – Showed some great touches in the middle for his team and a fine pass from the Scotsman played through Brown just before the opening goal.
James Forrest 8 – Looked threatening out wide and put in some good balls when cutting in on his stronger foot. Confirmed the win for his side with a headed effort in the second half.
Stuart Armstrong 8 – Another strike for the 25-year-old midfielder to open the scoring for his side against Kilmarnock. He’s on fire under Brendan Rodgers.
Scott Sinclair 9 – Dominant on the wing. The Kilmarnock defence often struggled to cope with his pace and he was awarded with a goal for his efforts.
Patrick Roberts 4 – The attacker struggled to make an impact on Saturday. Looked too lightweight at times and was rightly brought off in the second half.
SUBS:
Moussa Dembele (For McGregor 72 minutes) – 7
Tom Rogic (For Roberts 72 minutes) – 6
Eboue Kouassi (For Armstrong 84 minutes) – 6
