Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham has told his friends he wants to quit the club this summer, Football Insider understands.
The Glasgow giants’ hierarchy are aware the 23-year-old Frenchman is unsettled in Scotland and is eager to return to his homeland amid interest from Marseille.
A Celtic source has told Football Insider that Ntcham has made it clear to his inner circle he is looking for a new club and is hopeful he will get a move in the current window.
Porto have cooled their previous interest in the central midfielder, but new Marseille manager Andre Villas-Boas has targeted Ntcham to replace Morgan Sanson, who is attracting interest from Premier League clubs West Ham and Wolves.
Ntcham has reportedly been valued at between £12-14million by Celtic but Football Insider has been told the club accept £7million is a more realistic valuation of the player.
He was recruited from Manchester City for £4.5million in the summer of 2017 and made a strong impression in his debut campaign alongside Scott Brown in midfield.
Ntcham was far less effective in the recently-completed season and started only half of Celtic’s league matches and was frequently omitted from the XI for major matches, including the Scottish Cup final.
In other Celtic news, it can be REVEALED that the club are convinced they’ve signed a “diamond” whose value will skyrocket next season.
