Celtic prepare player-plus-cash deal to sign midfield goal machine - report
By Derek Smithson
Celtic are prepared to offer youngster Ryan Christie in a player-plus-cash deal in order to sign Aberdeen midfielder Jonny Hayes, according to a report.
The Scottish Sun claim that the Bhoys are eyeing a move for Hayes, 29, as manager Brendan Rodgers is keen on the right winger.
The report details that Celtic are considering offering Christie as a makeweight to secure the signature of the Aberdeen star man.
The Dons already know all about the qualities of Christie as he has spent the season on loan at Pittodrie from Celtic.
He has scored eight times in 22 appearances for Aberdeen and they could be offered the chance to sign him permanently.

Meanwhile, Rodgers’ side are prepared to let Christie leave if it helps their chances of signing Hayes.
The wide man has been in sensational form this year, scoring 11 goals and supplying 24 assists in just 44 appearances across all competitions.
He was the only non-Celtic player included in the PFA player of the year shortlist and has proven to be a deadly in the Scottish Premiership.
Football Insider verdict:
Celtic would be showing a real sign of intent by snapping up Aberdeen winger Hayes in the summer as it would really effect their rivals. The potential decision to include Christie in a player-plus-cash deal shows how badly they want to sign him as they would be letting go a talented young player. However, the deal makes sense as Rodgers needs players that will improve his squad now and Hayes would be able to fill the void left by loanee Patrick Roberts out wide. Celtic are aiming to be competitive in both domestic and European competitions under Rodgers, meaning they will have to make bold decisions to improve another level.
