Celtic 'should' appoint Howe 'within days' after newspaper reveal - Agbonlahor
Gabby Agbonlahor has insisted Celtic need to appoint Eddie Howe “as soon as possible”.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England striker claimed Howe needs to begin a big clear out and bring in some new face to Parkhead.
Football Insider revealed earlier this year the former Bournemouth manager had reached a verbal agreement to take over at Celtic before having second thoughts.
The Daily Record report the appointment remains on hold until Bournemouth’s play-off campaign finishes as he waits for some key members of his backroom staff.
The Cherries beat Brentford 1-0 in the first leg of their semi-final on Monday night with the final scheduled for the end of the month.
Asked for his verdict on the Record’s update on Howe, Agonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “It has to be soon. A new manager should be appointed within the next week, maybe days.

“You look at how strong Rangers are, whenever Rangers play Celtic they look comfortable.
“Celtic need to get a manager in as soon as possible so he can get rid of players and bring players in.
“The longer you leave it the harder it’s going to be. For me, they need to get that over the line.
“He’s the favourite to get the job so they need to get that done as soon as possible so he can start building a team that can challenge Rangers.”
Celtic finished 25 points behind Rangers in the Scottish Premiership and did not defeat their Glasgow rivals all season.
In five games, the Hoops recorded one draw and lost four times.
