Kristoffer Ajer: These two Celtic man have had huge impact on my career
Celtic centre-back Kristoffer Ajer has named two players turned coaches at Celtic Park that have had the biggest impact and most influence on his career so far.
The 19-year-old revealed that Kolo Toure and John Kennedy have been a huge help to the player since he has become a first-team regular in December
Ajer disclosed what aspects of his game that the pair have managed to improve on in his time with the Hoops.
“The last year is when I’ve developed most as a footballer” Ajer said, as quoted by the Daily Record.
“At Celtic, Kolo and Kendo were centre-halves so that has helped. They help with the positioning work and work with me on heading after training.”
Ajer has been a stand-out performer for the Hoops since replacing Jozo Simunovic in the heart of the Hoops defence following the 4-0 loss to Hearts in December.

He recently made his 18th start in a row for the Bhoys in the 3-0 win over Ross County and if he continues on his current trajectory he can be a major player for the Hoops for years to come.

Huge credit must be given to Kennedy and Toure who managed to help turn Ajer into one of the most important players at the club in a very short time. The 19-year-old is already the best centre-back at the club and you’ve got to think that is partly down to the work put in by the coaching duo, who both have extremely successful careers at club level. If Ajer manages to stay fit for the rest of the season, he may well go down as the Hoops’ best players of the year, which is an incredible achievement when you consider that the player has only been a first-team regular since December.
