'Best option' - Attacker raves over Celtic figure in crucial reveal over his transfer future
Celtic attacking star Odsonne Edouard has confirmed that he is hopeful of securing a permanent move to the Hoops after a successful loan spell from Paris St Germain this season.
The 20-year-old hitman joined the Bhoys from the French giants on a season-long temporary deal last summer and has impressed in the green and white hoops, scoring 11 goals in 29 appearances after acting as an understudy to both Leigh Griffiths and Moussa Dembele when the duo were fully fit.
With his time at Parkhead coming to a close, and Brendan Rodgers trying to seal a permanent deal for the youngster, Edouard has been raving over his manager in Glasgow, and crucially revealed that he hopes to be a Celtic player after the upcoming transfer window.
He told L’Equipe, as relayed by the Daily Record: “It’s a top club with a top coach. He will help me with my development. It would be a pride for me to wear the Espoirs (France U21) jersey next season. I want to show what I am worth.
“I am happy at the club, with the team, the coach. He has given me a lot of confidence. The aim is to stay here. For me, this would be the best option.”

Edouard has been a real boost to the Celtic squad during his loan spell and it should come as no surprise that Brendan Rodgers is keen to make the youngster a permanent member of his side. He is well built for someone so young and he offers a different option up front from Griffiths and Dembele, and the technical side of his play is something that will only grow as the years go on. He obviously enjoys playing under Rodgers and that positive relationship between player and coach is a crucial aspect to their development, especially at the age Edouard is at now. With more first team action under his belt, he could go on to become a real force both in Scotland and Europe, and it is now a matter of the Hoops getting a deal done and making both the 20-year-old, as well as Rodgers, happy.
