Celtic told to accept ‘£3m’ Albian Ajeti bid after approach made – pundit
Alan Hutton has claimed Celtic should accept £2-3million for Albian Ajeti.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Rangers defender said the Hoops will have to cut their losses on the 25-year-old.
According to Spanish outlet Primicias, as relayed by Everything Celtic (23 August), Spanish side Racing Santander have contacted Ange Postecoglou’s side over a transfer for the striker.
The Switzerland international currently has two years remaining on his contract at Parkhead.
He joined the Bhoys in 2020 for a fee of around £5million.
Ajeti is yet to feature in a matchday squad for Celtic this season.
On Thursday (25 August), Celtic confirmed the signing of Sead Haksabanovic from Rubin Kazan.
The 23-year-old attacker put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the Glasgow club.
He becomes Postecoglou’s seventh summer signing.
Hutton said any money that comes in for Ajeti will be good for the club.
“They’ll want as much money as they can get in,” he told Football Insider.
“If they can get the £2-3million mark it would be ideal. Yes they paid a lot of money for him, it’s not quite worked out. I think he’s had a lot of opportunities to be on the pitch and shine. It’s not quite worked for him.

“Sometimes, you have to cut your losses and come to some sort of an agreement with the club that it’s probably best for you to move on and go and get that game time.
“I think that’s where Ajeti is at at this moment in time. Any money I think that comes into the club will obviously be a positive. As a player you want to go away and play football and I don’t think Celtic will stand in his way of that.“
In other news, a source has told this site that Sunderland are in advanced talks to beat Celtic to Edouard Michut signing.
