Celtic’s arrogance will surely cost them Julian Araujo deal as new talks eyed
Celtic are preparing for the 2026-27 campaign and have been linked to Julian Araujo.
The right-back had a successful loan spell at the Hoops in the latter part of the current season before an injury prevented him from playing the final months of the season.
Nevertheless, it is clear that Mexico international has talent, with the Daily Record reporting on 28 May that Celtic are exploring a deal to re-sign the defender.
The Hoops are keen to hold more talks. However, this would only be another loan move from AFC Bournemouth.
This could now come back to haunt Celtic and potentially damage their chances of striking a deal.

VISIT THE CELTIC TRANSFER HUBJulian Araujo unlikely to want another loan move to Celtic
Araujo is not short of potential destinations this summer.
According to Gerardo Gonzalez via X on 25 May, a move back to Mexico is not off the cards, with the likes of Monterrey and Cruz Azul chasing him, with the latter club appealing to the 24-year-old.
| Julian Araujo’s Scottish Premiership stats this season | Per 90 minutes |
| Goals | 0.11 |
| xA | 0.16 |
| Passing accuracy | 88.2% |
| Successful dribbles | 0.69 |
| Tackles | 1.94 |
| Possession won in final third | 0.34 |
For Araujo, this could also offer some stability to his career as he looks for consistent playing time on a permanent basis.
Celtic’s potential loan bid for the defender is arrogant, as the right-back could see himself searching for a new club yet again, this time next year.

Me cuentan que el mexicano podría regresar a la Liga MX, aunque hay un detalle interesante…
Si vuelve a México, Cruz Azul también es un equipo que le atrae.

Therefore, he is unlikely to want a loan move and will surely prefer a permanent solution to his Bournemouth exile.
As a result, Celtic’s unwillingness to sign him on a permanent basis could be their undoing and cost them a top player who has already shown he can perform in the Scottish Premiership.
Who else are Celtic chasing?
Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Celtic want to sign Bodo/Glimt’s Kasper Hogh.
The Hoops will have to pay £10million to acquire his services after he impressed in this season’s Champions League.
Hogh was linked with a move to Celtic in January, but a move never materialised as the club moved on to other options.
Celtic’s chances of signing Hogh were boosted in recent weeks after they qualified for the Champions League.
However, it remains to be seen if they are able to bring in the striker, with plenty of other clubs also linked to the attacker.
