Chelsea fans savage ‘shameful’ Levi Colwill after on-air Sky Sports battering

Chelsea fans have slammed Levi Colwill after his “shameful” performance against Brighton during their embarrassing defeat on Friday (14 February).

The Blues were hammered 3-0 by Brighton at the Amex Stadium after a goal from Kaoru Mitoma and a Yankuba Minteh brace.

It marked the second time that Enzo Maresca’s side have lost against the Seagulls in less than a week after Brighton knocked them out of the FA Cup last Saturday (8 February).

Colwill played a key role in Chelsea conceding the third goal of the game after he failed to play out from the back and was punished immediately.

The 21-year-old dribbled the ball out from the back and then passed it immediately to a Brighton player to set up a counter-attack which resulted in a goal.

Colwill had tried to claim he was fouled after losing the ball, but that was brushed off by the referee as Brighton punished him and went on to win the game comfortably.

Levi Colwill is torn apart by Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville after Chelsea defeat

Sky Sports pundits Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville were left less than impressed by Colwill as the former Liverpool star said, “he doesn’t look strong enough in the kit.”

Neville added, “Colwill’s got to get stronger, he’s getting overpowered quite easily in games that I’ve seen recently. Two or three games I’ve seen he’s been bullied in that channel.

“That was a really bad one for him as he obviously gives the ball away but then he sits on the floor and turns around and looks and basically spends two or three seconds on the floor. Get up and sprint back, that’s a bad habit.

“He’s still young, he’s got a lot of learning to do as have those other Chelsea young players that are playing in these types of positions, but they’ve got to get stronger in their bodies.”
