Chelsea: Frank Lampard’s chances of replacing Liam Rosenior revealed as betting odds narrow
Chelsea could be set to appoint a new manager in the summer as Liam Rosenior feels the pressure following four consecutive defeats.
The Blues have been beaten by Newcastle United, Everton and twice by PSG over the last two weeks, failing to score in any of the last three games.
Rosenior was only appointed to replace Enzo Maresca in January, but he is already under the cosh at Stamford Bridge amid a potentially disastrous end to the season.
The Englishman’s side now find themselves six points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa, and with eighth-placed Everton just two points behind.
Chelsea’s manager is facing heavy scrutiny, but remains in with a shout of leading his team to FA Cup glory amid next month’s quarter-final against Port Vale.

Football Insider exclusively revealed in January that Coventry City are determined to keep Frank Lampard ahead of their expected promotion to the Premier League.
The Sky Blues are nine points clear at the top of the Championship, and have been transformed under the former Chelsea midfielder.

Coventry had been struggling in the second tier before Lampard’s arrival in 2024, winning just four of their opening 17 games of the 2024-25 season.
But the 47-year-old instantly brought results, including a run of nine wins in 10 games that saw his team rise to fifth in the table.
The West Midlands club were narrowly beaten by Sunderland in the semi-finals of the play-offs, but returned this season with motivation, and have led the way throughout.
Lampard’s team have won seven of their last eight and now find themselves just games away from confirming automatic promotion and a return to the Premier League for the first time since 2001.

But they could be looking for a new manager this summer nonetheless. One major bookmaker has placed the former midfielder’s odds of returning to Chelsea again at 8/1, while Filipe Luis is the 2/1 favourite.
The numbers behind Lampard’s first Chelsea tenure
Lampard was appointed as Chelsea manager in 2019, following a year in which he had led Derby County to the Championship play-offs.
But his tenure at Stamford Bridge would last just 18 months before he was dismissed in 2021.
There were good parts of the 47-year-old’s return – he won 44 games from 84, and guided his team to the Champions League at the end of his first season.
But a leaky Chelsea lost 25 games under his watch, and sat ninth when he was dismissed and replaced by Thomas Tuchel.
The German would go on to lift the Champions League in the second half of the season.
