Chelsea have new Liverpool fear after Mauricio Pochettino sack update – sources
Chelsea fear clubs like Liverpool could make it hard to replace Mauricio Pochettino if they choose to sack him this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed on Wednesday (3 April) that Pochettino is under growing pressure as his poor first season at Stamford Bridge continues.
However, it is believed that the Chelsea board are yet to make a final decision on the Argentine’s future.
Pochettino’s season could yet be considered a success by club chiefs if he leads his side to victory in the FA Cup.
Another factor in Chelsea’s indecision is the volume of elite clubs looking to appoint a new manager in the summer window.
Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Barcelona will all be on the hunt for a new boss in the off-season – while David Moyes is out of contract at West Ham.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Chelsea chiefs are worried it could be too hard to lure the right man to Stamford Bridge if they choose to replace Pochettino.
Nevertheless, his future will be weighed up at the end of the 2023-24 campaign – which has proved a disappointing season for the Blues.
The club remain marooned in mid-table and were mocked by fans and pundits alike when they failed to win the League Cup final against a second-string Liverpool side.

Pochettino, who is under contract until June 2025, was backed heavily upon his arrival at the London club last summer (2023).
He has helped develop recent signings Cole Palmer and Malo Gusto into top performers – but other stars like Moises Caicedo and Christopher Nkunku are yet to make an impression.
In other news, midfielder is ‘definitely leaving Chelsea’ with two big-name teammates set to follow.
