Chelsea: Liam Rosenior handed ‘no sack’ vote of confidence despite PSG humiliation
Liam Rosenior is facing growing pressure on his position as Chelsea manager but there are currently “no plans” to sack him in the immediate future, sources have told Football Insider.
It has been a difficult week for the Chelsea boss with a 5-2 defeat by Paris Saint-Germain followed by a 1-0 loss against Newcastle and another heavy defeat against PSG.
Questions have been asked of his position amid claims the Blues owners have not been convinced by the boss’ management since his appointment in January.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Chelsea are planning to stick with Rosenior, but feel results must improve.
Rosenior is facing Everton, Port Vale, Man City, Man United and Brighton in his next five games, and must put together a strong run or Chelsea could be looking for a new manager.

Football Insider shared reports on 16 March that Chelsea have serious concerns about Rosenior and influential figures at the club feel he could soon be sacked.
An 8-2 aggregate defeat has done little to inspire belief that he is the man to lead the West London club, with doubts growing among the club’s hierarchy.

While they remain keen to stick with the manager and back him for long-term success, doubts creeping in at this early stage will not be seen as a good sign.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “It doesn’t matter with Chelsea really if you’re there for long or not. They’ve got such high expectations.
“I’m sure there will be some doubts after their recent results, obviously the results lately haven’t been great.
“It was a poor performance against Newcastle, that was a shock win for them at Stamford Bridge, and then the manner of the defeat to PSG.
“Pressure is always going to be on the Chelsea manager, that’s the nature of the beast, but they’ve got no plans to sack him just yet.
“Chelsea want to give him as much time and opportunity to turn things around there as well.
“So I don’t think there’s any plans to make any knee-jerk reactions just after a couple of bad results.”
Rosenior playing role in Chelsea transfer plans
Despite questions now being asked about the manager’s future at Stamford Bridge, he is playing a key role in moulding the squad ahead of the summer transfer window.
Key areas for improvement have already been identified by the boss, who hopes to improve his side in a bid to find more consistent and impressive results next season.

Football Insider revealed on 19 March that Rosenior is not happy with his goalkeepers, and both Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen are now at risk of being sold.
The Blues have Mike Penders returning from his loan spell with Strasbourg at the end of the season, and the Belgian’s switch is likely to result in one of the current options leaving.
Sources say the boss doesn’t want to have three goalkeepers in his squad who will all see themselves as the first-choice option.
