Chelsea plan to accept Noni Madueke offer as replacement talks open
Chelsea are expected to sell Noni Madueke if they complete the signing of Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund, sources have told Football Insider.
Gittens is understood to have a £51million release clause in his current contract, and Chelsea have made contact as they look to strike a deal for the 20-year-old this summer.
Although preliminary talks have taken place, the Blues would ideally like to seal the deal before both clubs begin their Club World Cup campaigns later this month.
Should the young Englishman arrive at Stamford Bridge, Madueke’s future would become far less certain and a move away from the west London club would edge closer.
Chelsea are open to offers for England international, 23, due to a feeling that his development has stalled.
Mick Brown told Football Insider as recently as April that Tottenham were leading the race for Madueke’s signature, while a number of Bundesliga clubs are also monitoring the situation.

Tottenham could re-sign Noni Madueke
Another Premier League club interested in securing Madueke’s signature is Newcastle. Eddie Howe is a long-term admirer of the winger and his interest stretches back to last July as the Magpies looked to strengthen the right-side of their attack.
The position remains one of significant concern for Howe despite the eye-catching form of Jacob Murphy last season.
Season | Played (all comps) | Goals |

23/24 | 34 | 8 |
24/25 | 41 | 11 |
Now that Toon target Bryan Mbeumo has opted for a move to Man United over the Magpies, Madueke could become a viable alternative.
Madueke joined Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven in 2023 and scored 11 goals in all competitions last season, while Reading-born Gittens notched 12 goals in 48 appearances for Dortmund.
‘Chelsea worried about Alejandro Garnacho’
Meanwhile, Man United winger Alejandro Garnacho is aiming to join Chelsea this summer, but the Blues have concerns about giving him the move he wants.
The Argentine winger looks set to leave the Red Devils this summer in acrimonious circumstances, as Ruben Amorim told Garnacho to find another club in front of several of his teammates.
Chelsea were credited with an interest in Argentine international back in January, but there were reported concerns about his attitude.
