By Dominic Toner

Football Insider rates the Chelsea players after their 1-0 victory against Sunderland in the Premier League.

Thibaut Courtois 7 – Was quiet against Sunderland, but did pull off a phenomenal late save to show that he is a top goalkeeper.

Cesar Azpilicueta 6 – Looked assured in defence and tried to come forward with the ball when in possession.

David Luiz 6 – Looks a perfect fit for Antonio Conte’s three-man defence and showed his ability in possession. He was involved in a battle with experienced striker Jermain Defoe.

Gary Cahill 6 – The defender enjoyed a quiet night against the Sunderland attack and was rarely tested by Adnan Januzaj.

N’Golo Kante 7 – He showed how much more attacking he has become since moving to Chelsea from Leicester and was involved in some positive spells of passing.

Marcos Alonso 7 – Was a constant threat on the left and found himself in space on numerous occasions. He delivered some great crosses, but his team-mates couldn’t convert.
