Injury expert issues bold Lukaku claim after Chelsea development
Romelu Lukaku will likely make a “cameo” off the bench for Chelsea against Juventus in the Champions League tonight (23 November).
So says injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.
Lukaku has missed Thomas Tuchel’s side’s last six matches with an ankle sprain sustained against Malmo in October.
Speaking to Chelsea’s media team on 22 November, Tuchel admitted: “We’re unsure [whether he will be ready for Juventus] yet, he has an appointment with the doctor and physios so let’s see.”
It was hoped that the £97.5million summer signing might return against Leicester last Saturday, but he did not make the matchday squad.
However, the 28-year-old centre-forward will probably get some minutes in the Champions League against Juventus, predicts Dinnery.

He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “Ideally, he would have been brought back off the bench against Leicester.
“But I think this will be an opportunity to get minutes in his legs off the bench. That will tee him up nicely for the weekend.
“We know he only rejoined the team in training for the first time on Sunday, then was involved on Monday as well.
“Provided there has been no kind of reaction, I’d be very surprised if Lukaku wasn’t involved in the squad.
“Maybe a nice 10 or 20-minute cameo so he can blow a few cobwebs off and get ready for Man United on Sunday.”
Lukaku has registered four goals and one assist since his return to Stanford Bridge in August.
Reigning European champions Chelsea will qualify for the last-16 if they avoid defeat against Juve tonight.
