Chelsea told to complete another midfielder signing after source’s Moises Caicedo reveal – Agbonlahor

Chelsea need another signing to be able compete at the elite level once again.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has claimed that if the Blues sign Moises Caicedo, then another midfield signing alongside him would create an excellent side.

Chelsea are pushing to complete the signing of Moises Caicedo as soon as possible with an official bid coming this week.

The Blues have Caicedo as a key target this summer and have an understanding the player has agreed to the move should they be able to negotiate a deal with Brighton.

The midfielder played 37 times for Brighton in the Premier League among 43 appearances in all competitions in the 2022-23 campaign.

With a potential deal for Caicedo on the cards, Agbonlahor believes it would be a great signing and Chelsea would benefit from another incoming.

“Enzo Fernandes and Moises Caicedo would be a great pairing despite them both being young,” he told Football Insider.

“I watched Caicedo last season, and especially in the Arsenal game at the Emirates, where played right-back and he was still good, so he could even be used in another position.

“I think if they can add one more midfielder between Caicedo and Fernandez to make a three, they’re going to be a lot better.

“With Chelsea losing both N’Golo Kante and Matteo Kovacic it makes sense to get Caicedo over the line.
