Chris Sutton defends his criticism of Rangers, states who doesn't speak the truth

By Amir Mir

Chris Sutton has defended his criticism of Rangers on Twitter as he claimed that many former Gers players “won’t say what’s really happening”.

The former Celtic striker has been critical of Mark Warburton’s side in recent weeks, in particular, leading up to the Old Firm derby which the Bhoys won 2-1 on New Year’s Eve.

Prior to the game and after it, Sutton stated that Partick Thistle is now a more relevant derby for Rangers considering they have fallen way behind their Glasgow rivals this season.

After that defeat against Brendan Rodgers side, the Gers slipped 19 points behind Celtic in the SPL table and remained 17 points ahead of Thistle.

Nonetheless, many Rangers fans on social media were unhappy with the former striker as he issued this response on his personal Twitter account.

TV pundit Sutton is known for his open and honest views, in particular, on Rangers.

On the pitch this season his former side have stormed to a domestic unbeaten run under Northern Irishman Rodgers.

The former Liverpool boss has guided them to Scottish League Cup glory and 19 wins from 20 games as they are on course to win the SPL title in fine style.

Additionally, they have beaten their Old Firm rivals on three occasions this term, including inflicting the first defeat on home soil in 15 months on Warburton’s side

In other Rangers news, this is why the Gers should sign this proven Championship goalscorer.
