Chris Sutton delivers instant one-word verdict on Chelsea after 1-1 draw v Barcelona
Chris Sutton said that Chelsea were “unlucky” not to beat Barcelona in the Champions League knockout game on Tuesday night at Stamford Bridge.
Willian hit the post twice in the first half before finally getting his aim straight with a sweet strike to give Chelsea the lead.
And Antonio Conte’s men had defended admirably and given Barcelona very few chances before they gifted Lionel Messi a goal.
Andreas Christensen played the ball across his own box and Cesar Azpilicueta missed the ball with a wild lunge giving Barcelona a simple finish.
Sutton was working on the BT Sport broadcast but delivered an instant verdict on his personal Twitter account as soon as the full-time whistle was blown.
As well as calling Chelsea unlucky he said that they’re not out of the tie. He said it would be tough at the Nou Camp but you couldn’t rule Chelsea out yet.
The return leg plays out in Spain on March 14 when Barcelona will have a precious away goal giving them the advantage.
