Chris Sutton hits out at Rangers senior figure, states who should be obsessed
By Amir Mir
Chris Sutton has hit out at Rangers chairman Dave King by stating he should start showing an “urgent obsession” with the club.
Relegation-threatened Inverness beat managerless Gers on Friday night when Billy Mckay’s stunning overhead sealed all three points for the home team in a 2-1 win.
It was the third defeat the Scottish giants had suffered in four Premiership games as they fall further away from the top two with the possibility of also losing out on third spot to Hearts.
Amongst all the trouble on the pitch for Rangers, former Celtic striker Sutton has called out the club’s senior man King and urged the supporters to ask this alarming question.
Here is Sutton’s comments about King to supporters as posted on his personal Twitter account.
“I’d be demanding Dave King showing an urgent obsession with Rangers,” said Sutton. “How low can it go? fourth? fifth?”
At this moment in time, Rangers are third in the SPL table on 43 points from their 26 matches, thirty points behind leaders Celtic and six points behind second-placed Aberdeen.
The Ibrox club will be looking over their shoulders to the chasing pack behind them as they can fall further down the table in the coming weeks.
Fourth-placed Hearts are five points behind and could close that gap if they beat Partick Thistle on Saturday afternoon away from home.
Following Mark Warburton’s departure earlier this month from the Glasgow-based club those now in charge will be looking to appoint a new figure as soon as possible.
