Chris Sutton: This is what I admire about Rangers boss Caixinha
By Danny Wright
Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has admitted that he admires the way Pedro Caixinha has defended every word he has said while in charge of Rangers.
The Light Blues boss was in a heated argument with Sutton two weeks ago after the 3-1 win against Ross County when the BT Sport pundit questioned his claim that he has the best squad in Scotland.
Caixinha stood his ground and argued his case, which has led the former England international to speak of his admiration for the Ibrox manager.
“I respect the fact that he’s prepared to put his neck on the line. I admire the fact that he speaks out when he thinks he’s been wronged,” said Sutton the Daily Record website.
“I don’t have a problem with a guy standing up for his principles and I liked the fact he didn’t back down once during our interview when he was challenged about his assessments.

“Now, I think he’s wrong. But at least Caixinha doesn’t hide, he doesn’t back down and that’s admirable.”
Caixinha has led a major reshuffle of the Rangers squad since taking charge in March but there is yet to be a marked improvement after a stuttering start to the campaign which began with being knocked out of the Europea League by minnows Progres Niederkorn.
A number of players have been shown the door while 11 new faces were brought in during the transfer window with varying results.
The Light Blues have failed to win in their first two matches in Glasgow this season with a defeat against newly promoted Hibernian drawing the fiercest of criticism against the club.
Rangers will be hoping to correct their home form on Saturday when they welcome Dundee to Ibrox as they return to Scottish Premiership action following the international break.
In other Rangers news, Derek Johnstone has urged the Gers to sign this Championship attacker.
