Rangers

Chris Sutton has surprisingly named Craig Gordon in his team of the week despite constantly berating the Celtic goalkeeper’s performances in recent weeks.

The BT Sport pundit has slammed the Scotland international – who has recently been called up to the national team once more – for being the weak-link in Brendan Rodgers’ side and making a whole catalogue of errors this season.

Gordon even bit back at the ex-Bhoy, claiming that he is launching a campaign against him as the goalkeeper went public with his frustration at the criticism.

However now, Sutton has opted to include him in his team of the week after keeping a clean sheet against Rangers on Saturday in a 2-0 win for the Hoops at Ibrox.

Leigh Griffiths, Scott Brown and Kieran Tierney were also nominated in Sutton’s team, which he posted on his personal Twitter account on Monday.

Naturally, the ex-Celtic forward failed to include a single Rangers player in his team after they fell to a dour loss against the Scottish champions at the weekend.

Rodgers’ men kept themselves top of the Premiership standings with their three points against the old foe, who they now lead by a stunning eight points already even though just seven games have been played in the competition.

Next up for Celtic is an away trip to Anderlecht in the Champion League on Wednesday night.

In other Celtic news, fans have raged at Gordon Strachan after this in-form attacker was omitted from the Scotland squad.
