Chris Sutton names Rangers ace in TOTW after Motherwell draw

By Harvey Byrne

Outspoken pundit Chris Sutton has named Rangers goalkeeper ace Wes Foderingham in his team of the week following the club’s draw with Motherwell.

The Ibrox giants were held to a 1-1 draw at home on Saturday afternoon with an early goal from Louis Moult needing to be cancelled out by a second half Joe Garner effort.

It was a game which saw Pedro Caixinha’s side hold the majority of possession as well as having 18 shots in total to Motherwell’s 17.

However, Sutton believes Foderingham was the standout goalkeeper over the weekend and named him in his team of 11, as showcased on his personal Twitter account.

Foderingham, 26, has been a mainstay in the Rangers team this season with signings Matt Gilks and Jak Alnwick unable to displace him.

The former Swindon stopper has kept a commendable 12 clean sheets in 35 appearances in all competitions this season, while conceding 36.

He has been one of the consistent performers in a team which has held it’s critics this season as the Gers sit in third place in their first season back in the Premiership since their demotion.

Rangers will face seventh placed Kilmarnock next on Wednesday and they will be keen to return to winning ways as they look to make up the ground on Aberdeen in second.

In other Rangers news, Sutton also had some advice for what the Gers need in the summer.
