Chris Sutton two-word verdict on Wes Foderingham when talking about the best GK's ever

By Amir Mir

Chris Sutton has labeled Rangers ace Wes Foderingham as a “good keeper” when discussing the best goalkeepers to have played the game.

Ahead of the Champions League knockout tie between Juventus and FC Porto, where legendary figures Gianluigi Buffon and Iker Casillas will participate, Sutton named the duo as the best ever.

The former Celtic striker then asked his Twitter followers to name players who could be better than the duo.

The likes of Gordon Banks, Edwin Van Der Sar, Peter Schmeichel, Lev Yashin and Manuel Neuer were names suggested by his followers.

But, when one supporter offered the name of Gers shot stopper Foderingham, this was Sutton’s simple response.

“Good keeper,” Sutton wrote on his personal Twitter account.

London-born Foderingham has been a key figure for Rangers this season during a turbulent campaign at Ibrox.

Mark Warburton, who helped the club earn promotion last term, left his managerial role in February with Pedro Caixinha being named as his replacement prior to the Old Firm clash at the weekend.

The Portuguese was in the stands at Parkhead, while Foderingham started in between the sticks as his side snatched a late and dramatic draw in the hotly contested clash.

This season, Foderingham has played 33 matches in all competitions for the Glasgow club, helping them secure 11 clean sheets during those games.

He last kept a clean sheet in the SPL during the 2-0 win against Motherwell in January when Warburton was in charge.

In other Rangers news, Maurice Johnston believes the club need to do this to close the gap on Celtic.
