Christian Eriksen has told friends he is ready to quit Man United this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The 32-year-old has 12 months left to run on his contract at Old Trafford after arriving on a free transfer in 2022.
It is believed the veteran midfielder is the subject of initial interest in Turkey and Saudi Arabia – and United are not likely to demand a huge fee to facilitate an exit.
Eriksen, who scored in Denmark’s 1-1 draw against Slovenia in the European Championships on Sunday (16 June), is now keen to move away from Man United in search of more regular first-team football.
The midfielder is aware he is unlikely to break into the starting lineup ahead of Bruno Fernandes or impressive young midfielder Kobbie Mainoo.
Sources say Eriksen is seeking a move away from Old Trafford this summer and is hoping for a strong showing in Germany for Denmark.
He made 28 appearances across all competitions in the 2023-24 campaign, starting in 14 of those outings.
Eriksen wants Man United exit this summer as Turkish and Saudi clubs swoop
Eriksen notched just one goal and three assists as Man United finished eighth in the Premier League and won the FA Cup.
The former Tottenham star primarily lined up alongside Mainoo, Casemiro or Scott McTominay in central midfield – with Fernandes the undisputed first choice in a more attacking role.
He has made 72 total appearances since joining United, notching three goals and 13 assists.
Eriksen has racked up 131 caps for Denmark and will feature for his country in the group-stage clash against England on Thursday (20 June).
United have decided to keep Erik ten Hag on as manager for the 2024-25 campaign after completing an end-of-season review.
The Red Devils will play Europa League football next term after beating Man City in the FA Cup final last month.
