Peterborough owner Darragh MacAnthony has revealed that it would take a “mouth watering” offer for his club to cash in on any of their star players after Leeds United were reported to be interested in Jack Marriott and Marcus Maddison.
News outlet ClubCall has reported that the Whites deployed a scout to watch the Posh win 3-1 against Bradford on Boxing Day in order to keep a close eye on the dynamic duo.
MacAnthony, who is known for being very transparent on social media, has now revealed that Peterborough do not have any immediate plans to offload Marriott, 23, and Maddison, 24, however there is still hope for Leeds to snap up the two attackers if they stump up a big enough offer.
“Not likely Ryan, me and players agreed in summer to ignore August & Jan transfer rumours unless something mouth watering came up for them & club as promotion our only focus to be fair,” said the League One club’s owner on his personal Twitter account when responding to a Leeds fan’s question about his willingness to sell the pair.
Would be very good signings for us that’s for sure, is it likely you will listen to offers? I imagine they won’t come cheap!

Goal machine Marriott has been in lethal form this season, so it’s no wonder that Leeds are interested in him as only Tottenham’s Harry Kane has scored more in England’s top four divisions.
The former Luton forward has netted a stunning 21 goals in 33 appearances across all competitions and is understood to also be wanted by Sunderland and Aston Villa.
Maddison is also in great form for Peterborough.
The former Newcastle youngster has scored nine goals and supplied a staggering 18 assists in 32 appearances across all competitions.
