Cody Gakpo responds to Liverpool ace Kostas Tsimikas’ message ahead of ‘£15m’ Leeds deal
Cody Gakpo responded to a message from Liverpool teammate Kostas Tsimikas ahead of a mooted transfer to Leeds.
Having joined from PSV Eindhoven in January of 2023, the Dutch forward looks to have truly found his feet at Anfield.
Gakpo registered 18 goals and 6 assists in all competitions for Liverpool as they stormed to the Premier League title, and was just one of three Reds to hit double-digits in the league, alongside Barcelona target Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah.
But for as good as the Dutchman’s season has been, the same cannot be said for Tsimikas.
The Greek fullback was given plenty of opportunities to replace an ailing Andy Robertson at left-back, but was simply unable to oust the Scot from the position.
With Liverpool now eyeing a move for Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez, Tsimikas may find himself on the move this summer.

The photo was liked by teammate Gakpo, showing his support for the Greek international star.
Leeds eyeing up ‘£15m’ move for Liverpool defender Kostas Tsimikas
Football Insider Verdict
Pete O’Rourke revealed exclusively to Football Insider that Leeds can sign Tsimikas for “£12-15million” from Liverpool this summer.
The Greek defender is a well-liked figure at Anfield, but with the Reds keen on doing several deals in the coming months, letting go of the 29-year-old makes sense.
Tsimikas has been given ample opportunity to prove himself capable of replacing Robertson, but has failed to do so.

Liverpool will have to also make a decision on their Scottish left-back this summer.
Robertson registered just one assist in 29 Premier League games this season and lacked his usual attacking potency.
The former Hull man could be made available to accommodate Kerkez‘s arrival, but the more likely scenario would see him remain for another season to help smooth over the transition for the young Hungarian.
