Collymore identifies Emre Can best position after his Liverpool wonder goal
By Dominic Toner
Stan Collymore has suggested that Liverpool ace Emre Can would be best suited as an attacking midfielder
The 23-year-old has been recognised as a defensive midfielder during his career, but showed the opposite side of his game on Monday night.
Liverpool secured a narrow 1-0 away victory against Watford and Can proved to be the match winner.
The Germany international scored a superb bicycle kick on the stroke of half-time, which will surely be in the running for the goal of the season award.
Collymore believes that the midfielder should be unleashed in a more advanced role in the future.
“Liverpool fans, am I right? Play Emre further forward, let the shackles off and a new player is born?” Collymore wrote on his personal Twitter account.
Can has become a versatile player for the Reds and has even filled into the defence at times.
The German has shown his attacking talents this season by chipping in with five goals and his striker on Monday was certainly the pick of the bunch.
He has managed just nine goals during his 127 appearances at Anfield, but is beginning to score some important goals.
