Stan Collymore was full of praise for Everton’s Tom Davies following the youngster’s performance on Saturday against Crystal Palace.

The 18-year-old midfielder has turned heads following his breakthrough into the Everton senior team after making his Premier League debut at the tail-end of last season.

Davies has now played the full 90 minutes in Everton’s last three Premier League games, where he has contributed a goal and an assist.

Following their 1-0 win away at Crystal Palace on Saturday, Collymore took to Twitter to praise Everton’s wonderkid and compared him to Tottenham and England star Dele Alli.

Love watching Tom Davies,” Collymore said on his official Twitter account. “Would love to see him and Dele have a go together in the England midfield someday.”

Collymore continued the Davies love-in, stating that he has “natural football ability” and that the way he plays is “art”.

When one follower and Spurs fan suggested he might be going off a bit prematurely, Collymore pointed out that he’d said the same thing about Tottenham’s emerging star Dele Alli.

Davies has made eight appearances in total in the Premier League this season as he looks to push for a regular first-team place.

He is the latest academy product to make the transition to the first team, following in the footsteps of Ross Barkley.

In other Everton news, the club is set to make a £100k-a-week offer to this attacker after a £12m bid was accepted.
