Confirmed: Everton ace drops to reserves after featuring in squad v West Brom
By Harvey Byrne
Young defender Mason Holgate has dropped to the Everton Under-23s after being a part of Saturday’s 18-man senior squad against West Brom.
The 20-year-old has often been used in Ronald Koeman’s first team this season with 11 senior appearances to his name under the Dutchman.
This has seen him move away from David Unsworth’s reserve team with his last appearance at youth level coming back in November in a 1-1 draw with Southampton.
However, after the young starlet was left an unused substitute in the 3-0 victory over the Baggies Everton’s official Twitter account has confirmed that Holgate would start in Monday evening’s Premier League 2 match against Derby.

With a good history of bringing through players like Wayne Rooney and Ross Barkley fans will now be hoping there will be many more to emerge from this successful team.
