Roberts made his debut for the Baggies back in May 2016 and has spent most of this season on loan at Walsall where he has racked up five goals in 19 outings for the Saddlers.
The striker is also a Wales U21 international and has five caps and one goal for the youth side.
And only today Football Insider exclusively revealed that the Whites were pushing to sign Forest Green Rovers midfielder Jordan Stevens.
Football Insider verdict:
The Whites have been crying out for another forward to add to their squad and it would appear that Roberts is the going to be the man to fill the void in attack. Leeds have fallen away from the play-off spots in recent weeks and are in the middle of a poor run of form, but will hope that with the injection of pace that the 19-year-old can offer he can help the side return to form. The Wales U21 international is also strong in possession and Thomas Christiansen will hope he can utilise that in their pursuit of a return to the Premier League.
In other Leeds United transfer news, the Whites make an emphatic decision on the short-term future of 22-year-old.
