Peacock-Farrell is a product of famous Leeds academy and has earned just one first team appearance for the club so far when he starred in a 1-1 draw with QPR in April 2016.

He becomes the 13th youngster to agreee to a fresh deal at Elland Road in the space of a few days after a host of Under-23 players put pen-to-paper on July 4.

The 20-year-old’s new contract means that the Whites have signed off on yet another goalkeeper deal this summer, after they snapped up Felix Wiedwald from Werder Bremen towards the end of June.

Thomas Christiansen’s side is well equipped in the goalkeeping department with Wiedwald and Peacock-Farrell joined by Marco Silvestri and veteran stopper Rob Green.

Football Insider Verdict

Peacock-Farrell’s new deal suggests that Christiansen may be looking to loan him out this season. The youngster is on the verge of breaking into the first team so he has to be exposed to men’s football in the near future. He’s a very capable pair of hands and would definitely do a fine job playing in League Two. That would leave the Whites with Green and Silvestri to battle it out for a No 1 spot with new arrival Wiedwald, and one of them will probably have to leave. It’s not an ideal situation but it won’t be fair to let an experienced ‘keeper rot in the reserves so it would be a good idea to cash in on them in order to slight balance out the books.

In other Leeds news, fans are encouraged by the Whites decision to make a u-turn in their pursuit of this top-flight winger.
