Confirmed Leeds line-up v Derby: 9 changes as star defenders miss out
By Alex Stevens
Garry Monk has made nine changes to his team’s line-up to face Derby at Elland Road in the Championship on Friday evening.
Leeds are on a brilliant run at the moment – unbeaten in six, with four wins from their last five Championship games.
That’s seen them consolidate their position in fifth and they’ve got a five-point buffer between them and the seventh placed team.
However, that is Derby, their opponents tonight, and Monk will be desperate for three points to put even more space between Leeds and their play-off rivals.
They’ll have to do that without star defenders Pontus Jansson, who is suspended after picking up his 10th yellow of the season against Cambridge, and Charlie Taylor and Liam Cooper, who are out injured.

In all, Monk has made nine changes from the team that faced Cambridge in the FA Cup, and he’ll be hoping they can carry on the team’s good work.
Senior stars Rob Green, Luke Ayling, Kyle Bartley, Liam Bridcutt, Ronaldo Vieira, Pablo Hernandez, Kemar Roofe and Chris Wood all return for Leeds, along with 21-year-old Lewie Coyle who is making just his second Championship appearance of the season tonight.
Souleymane Doukara and Gaetano Berardi are the two players who have retained their places in Monk’s starting XI from their last game.
