Confirmed Leeds line-up v Port Vale: Borthwick-Jackson and Ekuban start
By Harry Sykes
Thomas Christiansen has announced a heavily changed line-up for the Carabao Cup game against Port Vale at Elland Road tonight.
Leeds got off to almost the perfect start in the Championship last Sunday, when they beat newly-promoted Bolton 3-2.
The only downers were injuries to defenders Gaetano Berardi and Matthew Pennington, who are both out of tonight’s games.
They’re not the only changes though and Christiansen is hoping his new-look XI can dispatch League Two Port Vale and start another cup run to rival last season’s.
Leeds, under former manager Garry Monk, made it all the way through to the quarter finals of the competition last season, before losing 2-0 to Liverpool at Anfield.

One man who kept his place was Felix Weidwald after it was reported late on that Rob Green was out with an injury.
Bit of team news – no Rob Green tonight. Carrying an injury seemingly. Wiedwald starts. #lufc

Christiansen is hoping that the team is good enough to win tonight and also keep his senior players fit for two crucial Championship games that are coming up.
Leeds face Preston North End on Saturday before the first huge challenge of the season as they host Fulham on Tuesday.
Fulham were the team that pipped them to the final play-off place last season and the players will be up for revenge.
Two more wins in the Championship would also see Leeds make the perfect start with a maximum of nine points as they aspire to possibly an automatic route back to the Premier League next season.
In other Leeds team news, this defender is eligible to play for the Whites on Wednesday evening.
