Former Euro chief says move for Liverpool ace is 'a done deal'
Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has already agreed to join Juventus this summer, according to former Napoli sporting director Pierpaolo Marino.
There had been suggestions that the Reds midfielder was also wanted by Manchester City and Real Madrid as the list of clubs keen to tie the player down grew.
As quoted in Italian media publication Calcio Mercato, Marino said: “Juve will only sign Florenzi if he plays in the midfield. He is not a full-back, but is a converted one.
“But there are others in the role who are better than him. Can, for me, is a done deal and will come in.”
Can is available on a free this summer after failing to agree new terms at Anfield but has been in unstoppable form for the Merseysider’s this season.
Along with Mo Salah and Sadio Mane, the 24-year-old has become one of the key components to Jurgen Klopp’s adventurous attack line.
The German international has bagged six goals in 36 outings for the Reds so far.
News of the player’s impending departure means that Klopp will have a job on in the summer to replace the attacking midfielder.
Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucoure has been mentioned as someone who could fit the Can mould but Liverpool already have Naby Keita set in stone who will join the Reds from RB Leipzig after spending the season on loan in the Bundesliga.
The Guinea-born ace has been criticised by his manager at the German club for some of his performances this season but statistically speaking Keita has matched his goal tally from the previous campaign in a shorter time.
