Liverpool have been linked with a summer move for Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure, according to a report.
The Mirror state that the Reds are contending with Tottenham and Arsenal for the player’s signature.
As quoted in The Mirror, the midfield maestro said: “It’s true that these clubs are interested. But I’m at Watford for the moment and I want to finish my season well.”
At 25, the Hornets ace has become a revelation at Vicarage Road and despite the club’s recent run of results, the French U21 international has maintained his high standards on the field with seven goals in 28 outings.
Doucoure has a contract with Watford until 2020 and after hearing the rumours of a move for the Frenchman, Liverpool supporters were in raptures with one even saying he is the perfect replacement for the departing Emre Can.
Here is a selection of responses to the rumours on social media:
Very good player, can be even more better under Klopp. He’s most welcomed.
