Romelu Lukaku wants to be the best striker in the world

The agent of Romelu Lukaku has claimed that only the world’s “best clubs” can afford the Everton striker.

Mino Raiola has stated that the 23-year-old will command a large fee if he was to leave Goodison Park this summer and only Europe’s elite clubs are able to pay such a fee.

Lukaku has made no secret of his desire to play for a club challenging for honours after three successful seasons on Merseyside.

“Only the world’s best can afford him: the top clubs in England, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich” Raiola said, as quoted by Belgium’s website Sportwereld.

Raiola added that the powerful striker was too expensive for Serie A, although he did confess that a deal could still be done.

“He’s too expensive for Serie A. That is unless this new group of Chinese investors complete the purchase of Milan,” Raiola told Sportwereld.

A deal between AC Milan and a group of Chinese investors had been due to go ahead, which would have seen more funds injected into the club, but the deal has since been postponed while current president Silvio Berlusconi recovers from heart surgery.

Lukaku had also previously been linked with Juventus, but they were reportedly put off by the Belgium international’s wage demands.

The Goodison Park forward is currently in France with the Belgium squad and the striker has already hit two goals in his first two matches at Euro 2016.

Lukaku enjoyed a successful season with the Toffee’s in the recently completed domestic season, which saw him score 25 goals in 46 appearances across all competitions.

However Ronald Koeman and Everton will be keen to keep hold of their star striker, who still has three-years left on his current contract.

In other Everton news, the Toffee’s have had a £10.2million bid turned down for Lille star Djibril Sidibe.
