Newcastle United teenage striker Lewis McNall has joined Gateshead on loan for the rest of the season, the club has confirmed.
The Magpies confirmed the news earlier today via a Tweet on the club’s official Twitter page and website.

The 18-year-old centre-forward has been prolific for the Magpies U23s side where he has scored five goals in three matches since overcoming an injury earlier in the season.
McNall will now link up with former Magpies defender Steve Watson who is in charge at Gateshead after he switched to the north-east outfit from Macclesfield Town in October.
Gateshead are only six points away from the drop and will hope they can use the goal scoring capabilities of the youngster to propel them away from the danger zone.

Football Insider verdict:
This is a great move for the youngster who will be able to test his strength in a tough league. Under the guidance of Steve Watson, he will be given plenty of advice on how to make it at the top as well as some much-needed game time, and will undoubtedly return as a better player once his loan comes to an end. Experience is key and McNall will only get this if he is playing regularly. The lower league outfit are in need of goals to cement their place in the division so it will be a great test for the 18-year-old.
