Conor Bradley faces extended injury lay-off, journalist reveals how Liverpool star left Arsenal’s stadium

Liverpool could now be set to miss Conor Bradley for an extended period of time after the right-back picked up an injury on Thursday in the 0-0 draw against Arsenal.

The full-back went down late on at the Emirates clutching his left knee after he landed awkwardly when clearly the ball.

Gabriel Martinelli then tried to shove Bradley off the pitch at the Emirates, which caused tensions to overflow between the two sides.

Eventually, the right-back was hauled off the pitch on a stretcher, with Arne Slot confirming that he fears the worst for his defender.

Conor Bradley left the Emirates on crutches

Bradley became Liverpool’s main right-back this season after Trent Alexander-Arnold’s departure from Anfield.

However, this has not resulted in further fortune for the Reds star, with the Northern Ireland international having had plenty of bad luck this season.

Bradley has already missed a handful of games this campaign for Liverpool through injuries, and now, he looks set for further time on the sidelines.

Daily Mail journalist Lewis Browning confirmed on 8 January that the full-back left the Emirates on crutches and in a knee brace.

This comes after Slot stated that he feared the worst for the defender.

He said: “I am afraid another injury have come up today. Let’s hope for the best but I fear the worst for Conor Bradley.”

Joe Gomez potentially set for big Liverpool opportunity

With Bradley out for the foreseeable future, Slot will need someone to cover for the Northern Ireland international.

Jeremie Frimpong is often used further forward; therefore, the manager could look towards Joe Gomez to fill in at right-back, a position he has routinely covered.

If given the nod, it would be a big chance for Gomez to show the manager why he should start more often, with the defender usually only given limited minutes off the bench.

In fact, the 28-year-old has only started three Premier League matches this season, despite how poor Liverpool’s defence has been.

Therefore, Gomez will be looking to make the right-back position his own and showcase why he should be starting, even when Bradley returns from the sidelines.
