Conor Gallagher: Tottenham handed new boost as Chelsea go against Pochettino
Tottenham have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Chelsea star Conor Gallagher with the Blues set to go against the wishes of manager Mauricio Pochettino, sources have told Football Insider.
It is understood that Pochettino values Gallagher highly and wants to keep the 24-year-old at Stamford Bridge.
However, Gallagher could be forced to leave this summer to help solve Chelsea’s ongoing financial issues.
As revealed by Football Insider, talks between Chelsea and Gallagher have completely stalled and they may look to sell him before June 30.
It is a huge boost for Tottenham, who held talks over a January deal for Gallagher and retain a concrete interest in bringing him to North London in the summer.

Chelsea announced losses of £90million in their latest 2022-23 accounts and are now at risk of breaching Premier League financial rules and facing a points deduction if players are not sold before the June cut-off date.
Despite Pochettino’s preference to keep hold of Gallagher, Chelsea are aware that his sale would add pure profit to their accounts as he is an academy product.
In what has been an underwhelming season for the Blues, Gallagher has been a standout performer with four goals and six assists in 36 appearances.
